Another Very Good Reason for Long Range Zoom

On her last visit to Florida my sister Dorothy joyfully ran in the yard, barefoot. "Ooh, I can't believe I'm doing this in February!" I almost told her about the snakes we sometimes see, but refrained. Why spoil a nice vacation? I'm sure the snakes were slithering in terror out of her way, anyway. You won't catch me holding any! Scary creatures!

Do you know whqt a grasper is, Mindy? A claw type tool to pick up things on a high shelf, or for those who have trouble bending, maybe pick up a newspaper or something. Anyway, I once worked with someone who stayed as far away from possible from her kids' jeans in the laundry-- went through pockets with a long-handled grasper, so she wouldn't be surprised by their fishing worms, bugs, snakes. etc..

Aunt Chris is a very smart lady. What I want to know is what is with the gloves on the boys? Surely they are not afraid of snake germs!!!

I think that the gloves are part of their show of professionalism in snake handling (they watch a lot of Jeff Corwin on TV) I was watering the garden and when I saw that thing slithering around I screamed for them to come and get it with the thought that they would relocate it somewhere far from the house. Instead they made it a habitat in a bucket and played with the thing for a half hour. Luckily for me it escaped in the night.

I used to have a grabber but the kids took it who knows where. I have considered doing a blog of the items I take out of pockets, sometimes the little pile next to the washing machine tells quite a story.

And Lisa I cannot believe it has been seven years since you were here on snake and child watching duty. Not much has changed, as you can see.
